For the first fifty years of her life nothing at all out of the ordinary had ever happened to her. She was an old-maid watchmaker living contentedly with her spinster sister and their elderly father in the tiny Dutch house over their shop. Their uneventful days, as regulated as their own watches, revolved around their abiding love for one another. However, with the Nazi invasion and occupation of Holland, a story did ensue.
In my father's house: Corrie ten Boom and her family became leaders in the Dutch Underground, hiding Jewish people in their home in a specially built room and aiding their escape from the Nazis. For their help, all but Corrie found death in a concentration camp. The Hiding Place is their story.
When Corrie ten Boom was in her late forties, she became part of the underground Christian resistance movement during World War II when Hitler's army occupied Holland. The account of Corrie's experience during this time period can be read in her best-selling book, The Hiding Place. In My Father's House is the story of Corrie's life with her mother, father, and the rest of the family before they began hiding Jewish people in their home. This book is a testament to how God prepared one family through a father's faithfulness to his Savior and the Word of God for the most sacrificial service a family could do.
Tramp for the Lord:Tramp for the Lord continues Corrie ten Boom's extraordinary journey of hope following the events recounted in her bestseller The Hiding Place. From her near-destitute days in postwar New York to heart-stopping adventures in Africa, Corrie's inspirational life story proves that miracles do happen.Nature du document : Roman Genre : Historique/Récit de vie Réservation
